The substrate for this piece measures 8″x8″x 1 1/2″, which allows it to either hang on the wall or stand on a shelf!  The textured background was created with fiber paste, stenciling and hand-drawn elements.  Crowns cut from vintage tin adorn the young girl (adding an extra 2 1/4″ in height) and her bird friend.  The edges have been gold leafed.
